'Nouvelle pub Grimbergen' - "New Grimbergen Ad"
Even if you don't understand a word, it is a treat to watch.
This Flemish beer that can trace its roots to 1128, when it was brewed at an abbey built for a communal society that became noted for its hospitality and home-brewed beer, is quite something to write home about.
According to an online translation, the ad tells how "The phoenix has marked civilizations across the ages".
From the Persians who disputed its legendary longevity to the Greeks who worshipped its mythical regeneration to the Romans its infinite power, to the people who saw in it the promise of a new life.
Like the phoenix, the abbey of Grimbergen rose from the ashes of a terrible fire in 1142, from the ravages of the wars of religion in 1566 ...
According to Grimbergen, "The phoenix became our emblem, and our inspiration... Burnt, but not consumed. A beer with a unique character was born in our country and started a legendary saga".
Of course, you have to taste it to relive it.
"Op uw gezondheid"!
